Reviewers Needed to Develop Ohio Assessment for Educators Tests

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and Evaluation Systems group of Pearson are currently seeking Ohio educators to participate in an Item Review Conference for the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) program. These assessments are those that teachers take to complete licensing requirements.

The following committees will meet online on the dates listed below:

  • Bias Review Committee Session 1: Nov 29–Dec 1, 2021 (concludes at noon) 
  • Bias Review Committee Session 2: Dec 1 (convenes at 1:00 PM)–Dec 3, 2021 
  • Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Primary Education (PK–5): Dec 6-8, 2021 
  • Primary Education (PK–5): Dec 8-10, 2021 
  • Primary Special Education (PK–5): Dec 13-15, 2021 • School Treasurer: Dec 15-17, 2021

Below are brief descriptions of the types of test development activities that Ohio Department of Education-approved committee members may be asked to take part in during this conference: 

  • Bias Review: Bias review committee members will review the draft test items to help verify that the test materials are free from bias and reflective of the diversity of Ohio. 
  • Item Review: Content advisory committee members will review the draft items according to criteria designated for the program, to help verify that the content of the materials is accurate and appropriate for testing educator licensure candidates in Ohio.
