OFT Member Pat Davidson Elected to STRS Board
OFT member Pat Davidson won a seat on the STRS Ohio Board (20,410 votes for Davdison to 8,853 votes for his opponent), according to results released today by STRS Ohio. OFT President Melissa Cropper released the following statement in response to the STRS Board election results:
“Congratulations to Pat Davidson, a teacher in the Berea City School District, on his victory. Pat has been an active member of OFT’s statewide retirement issues committee and is dedicated to using his time and expertise to advance retirement security for active and retired educators in Ohio. Pat’s focus is on pushing STRS to make the changes needed to restore benefits to active and retired members.
OFT once again states our disapproval of the divisive, misleading, and – at times – outright false attacks against STRS Board candidates. We are especially disappointed by some of the smears against Pat that maliciously claimed he took a position on investing with QED Management and was a ‘pal’ of Josh Mandel. Both claims are 100% false and we’re glad that STRS voters weren’t fooled by these lies.”
Pat Davidson released the following statement:
“I would like to thank all of the STRS members who supported my candidacy in this STRS board election. So many people worked so hard to get petitions signed for me, advocate among friends, family, and co-workers and I greatly appreciate all of their time and efforts.
I look forward to representing all of Ohio's STRS members, both active and retirees. I am excited to work collaboratively with all of my fellow board members to try and restore the best possible benefits for our members while also maintaining fiscal responsibility at STRS.”
